A great homemade pea soup for the winter days!
Ingredients

- Dried Peas or split peas; uncooked - 500 ml (2 cups)
- Water for soaking
- Broth of your choice - 3 L (12 cups)
- Non-hydrogenated margarine Nuvel -15 ml (1 tbsp)
- Onion, chopped - 1
- Celery cut diagonally - 1 branch
- Carrot into small pieces - 1
- Bay leaf
- Ground savory - 2 ml (1/2 tsp)
- Ham into small cubes - 60 ml (1/4 cup)
- Pepper, salt to taste
Method
- Put the peas into a bowl and cover with water
- Soak peas 6 to 8 hours or overnight
- Discard the soaking water
- Mix in a salad bowl the first ingredients
- Add the peas and remaining ingredients in a saucepan
- Cover and simmer about 3 hours
- Serve
