Istanbul: Spice market

In this category you will find Turkish recipes in English. Turkish food has influenced the cuisine of many countries due to the expansion of the Ottoman Empire into Eastern Europe, North Africa, Cyprus and Russia. However, Turkish food has itself been influenced by several ethnic cultures such as Byzantine, Armenian, Kurdish, Arabic, Jewish and Persian. Like Middle Eastern cuisine, there are no pork recipes or any that include alcohol.
