Method

  1. Bring ¾ of the water to the boil
  2. Add the sugar and stir until dissolved
  3. Add the vinegar and stir for a minute
  4. In a saucer, mix the remaining water, tomato purée and cornflour into a smooth paste
  5. Mix into the hot pan and stir continuously until thickened
  6. Pour into a gravy dish

Serving suggestions

Great with anything!

Variations

Add some chopped chillies for a hot sauce.
