It is a matured version of [[Nympsfield cheese|Nympsfield]] and develops a bloomy white rind. It was though they looked rather scary in the fridge - lots of hairy balls of [[cheese]] - hence the name.  It is very strong and similar to [[Camembert]] but with a peppery, blue finish.
