On Cookipedia there are generic templates that are used to provide content. We strive to keep these in a standard format in order that the users can feel comfortable with the look and the feel of Cookipedia. Please use standard rules of English for capitalisation of article names.

  • A recipe - with image

An image of the recipe or the ingredients, a recipe summary, the number of servings, a list of ingredients, the preparation/ cooking methods in list form, serving suggestions and other possible sections such as variations and Chef's tips.

The template includes all current categories.

Please delete those that are not relevant to your recipe.

When you have created your page using the template, please choose a unique, logical name for your image and rename the image in the template text.

There is a template at the top of all newly created recipe pages: {{Template:PageAwaitingImage}}, which makes it easy to identify pages that require an image. If you add an image to your recipe, deleting this template will assist the administrators.

  • An ingredient - with image

An image of the ingredient and other useful information in section headings.

The template includes all current ingredient categories. Please delete those that are not relevant to the ingredient you are adding.

  • An ingredient supplier - Use to recommend a supplier

Create the page using the name of the suppliers as the page name. Complete the template, it's self explanatory. . Delete any irrelevant categories.

Check the suppliers section if you are unsure how this category works.

  • A recipe generator

The easiest way to create a recipe. Fill in the fields, tick the relevant boxes and copy and paste the resulting text into the newly created page.

If you are creating a page and cannot find a template, then copy a similar existing page and modify that copy. If it's a section that you feel is likely to be required again then save it as a template so that others may use it.

How do I access these templates?

To access these templates, simply type a unique name for your article, recipe, ingredient, cooking method or supplier recommendation into the search box, click Go and then on the following page, providing the page does not already exist, you will see: You searched for the page name you typed in the search box, click that link and you will be presented with a list of templates as described above. Select one and begin your article.
