Tintern cheese
Tintern is a hard, pasteurised, cows’ milk cheese which is a type of blended mature creamy Welsh Cheddar cheese flavoured with fresh chives and shallots and takes its name from the Monmouthshire village of the same name. The monks of Tintern Abbey are said to have farmed shallots in the abbey gardens in the grounds.
The cheese has a smooth, creamy texture that subtly accentuates the taste of chives and shallots and has a distinctive bright green wax coating.
Produced by Abergavenny Fine Foods, it is sold in a 2.25kg deli wheel (pack size 1) and a 200g parchment wrap portion.
