Used Wilja potatoes, which are too soft for this, therefore I julienned them rather than grated. I think 7.5 cm = 3 inches, rather than 1 inch :-) Possibly next time I will finely julienne them and blanche for a minute or two in boiling water. Have shaped them and they are more like flat balls than patties. Anyway, have derdged them in flour (self-raising) as cannot be bothered to hunt in back of cupboard for the plain stuff. They are now 'resting' in fridge whilst I get the veal on. I always rest things out of habit - stops 'em from falling apart. --JuliaBalbilla 18:37, 26 April 2009 (BST)

Delicious taste but looked very different from recipe. We have a naff oven, now 7 years old. Time to get a new one I think. NO this is not a case of poor workman blaming tools.
