Comment from Remi

Hi,

One of the recipes on the website is not quite right. If you follow the recipe the outcome is as far from the real food as can be. I do not wish to offend the writer, but this is a dish I love and feel that other users should have a chance to see the traditional version. I propose is to write another version to help remedy this.

The dish is Kachumbari from East Africa - Kenya, the recipe has some of the right ingredients but main point of the meal is the fresh ingredients and lots of corriander, not the diluted "salsa" version on the site. Infact it is a salad and not even a sauce!

Without wishing to offend.

Please advise,

Remi.

Hi Remi

Thanks for your feedback - no offence taken!

We would love you to add your traditional recipe. The process is fairly easy but if you get stuck, send we the recipe and I will add it for you.

1: Login ( I see your are Rem) 2: Enter the name for your recipe, I would suggest :

Kachumbari (traditional)

I will finally sort the names and cross links to both recipes.

on the next page select the red link Create the page "Kachumbari (traditional)" then select automatic recipe builder and tick Kachumbari (traditional)

From then on it is a simple matter of filling in the forms - this creates a standard layout for all recipes.

Do have a go but let me know if you get stuck.

Hi Remi

I am the author of this and the recipe was inspired by some Kachumbari I bought from some Kenyans who used to make it at home and sell it. I agree that fresh tomatoes should be used, but where I live, it is not always easy to buy fresh tomatoes at the correct stage of ripeness (we no longer have a greengrocer), so I had to use tinned tomatoes, which are rather runny. I have seen numerous recipes for this all completely different and I would be delighted if you would add your own recipe to Cookipedia.
