Queso de Urriellu cheese
Queso de Urriellu is a mixed cows’ and goats’ milk cheese made in Pie de Sierra in the ‘concejo’ of Llanes.
The cheese is similar to other blue varieties such as Cabrales and Queso de La Peral. It is circular and weighs about 650 g. The interior is creamy and white in colour with blue holes, and the rind is the same colour but not quite so defined. It is sold wrapped in green foil.
