Oude Remeker cheese
Oude Remeker is a type of Boerenkaas (lit. ‘farmer’s cheese’) produced by Irene and Jan Dirk van der Voort on their farm in Lunteren.
It is an artisan cheese made with organic Jersey cows' milk which is renowned for its rich creaminess. It has a rich yellow colour, with a full, buttery flavour, slightly crunchy texture and is matured for 16 months or more. It has a red wax rind. A less mature version of the cheese is also produced which is matured for 7 months.
