The Negroni cocktail is made of 1 part gin, 1 part sweet vermouth, and 1 part bitters, traditionally Campari. It is considered an apéritif, a pre-dinner cocktail intended to stimulate the appetite.

- 1 oz sweet vermouth
- 1 oz Campari
- Ice cubes
- Orange slice to garnish
Method
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add the gin, vermouth and Campari. Shake well and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
- Garnished with a twist of orange.
Variations
For a long drink on a hot day, use a highball glass and top-up with soda water.
