Double Worcester cheese
Double Worcester is a smaller version of Double Gloucester and is based on Old Worcester cheese made by Colin and Alyson Anstey at Broomhill Farm, Worcester. The cheese usually has a cylinder shape with a hard, natural rind and golden interior and is matured for 5-7 months.
The cheese is a full fat, vegetarian, pasteurised cow’s milk cheese which won a silver medal at the British Cheese Awards in 2001. It develops a firm, flaky texture and has a nutty, robust, complex, mellow flavour with a gentle tang.
It is available at some branches of Waitrose.
