Chipple cheese

Chipple cheese is produced by Curworthy Cheese at Stockbeare Farm in Jacobstowe, near Okehampton.

The cheese is a brine-washed, semi-hard, cows’ milk cheese mixed with finely chopped spring onions which are gently mixed in with the curd to give a distinctive taste. Chipple is a local name for spring onion. It is made using vegetarian rennet.

Chipple is matured for 2-3 months and then coated in green wax.
