Nescafé Dolce Gusto Krups coffee machine

The Nescafé Dolce Gusto [Krups] coffee machine

Well, as I am definitely a caffeine head, I finally relented and, on a recommendation, bought a reconditioned Nescafe Dolce Gusto Krups coffee machine from Amazon (£49.00). I have always been against these cartridge type machines, mainly because of the price per cup when using such a proprietary system. However, the cost, if you buy the cartridges cleverly is less than 20 p per cup, which probably compares favourably with using freshly ground coffee beans. Because it works on the espresso principle (forcing hot water under pressure through finely ground coffee beans), the flavour is far superior to the drip-type coffee maker that this machine has replaced.

It does make cappuccino, though this requires two cartridges which effectively doubles the price per cup.

I am very pleased and impressed - maybe I should have bought one of these long ago?

ps

A year on and it has recently developed a fault. It started to leak very badly however, it was simple to fix: Leaking Nescafé Dolce Gusto coffee machine.
