Although McCarthy's are a bakers with large presence in the south of England, their products are exactly what you would expect from a small local bakery.  Everything I have tried from their stall at our local Farmer's Market, [[Hall Place Farmers' Market, Bexley, Kent|Hall Place, Bexley]], has been superb.  The pork pies are some of the best I've ever tasted, the rye [[sourdough bread]] is divine, it is still great a full week later if it's toasted.  Oh and I can't leave the market without a chicken samosa to graze on while walking back to the car.
