Hampton Blue cheese
Hampton Blue is a semi-hard, organic blue cheese made by Melissa Ravenhill of Woefuldane Farm, Minchinhampton near Stroud. The unpasteurised milk used is organic and comes from the producer’s own herd of Shorthorn cows.
The cheese was created for the opening of their shop a few years ago and has a powerful bite similar to Roquefort bite with a wonderful creamy texture and distinctive aftertaste. It is made over two days and matured for as little as two weeks in summer and four in winter. Pale yellow in colour the blue veining is amazing.
