Excellent - some new recipes for me to make!

By the way, you could probably use the batter from Spicy battered fish fillets to coat vegetables. that would make a nice snack with some garlic mayo. Asparagus possibly?

I didn't intend starting any new country cats, but I had to sort out the DOPs etc for Czech republic as 3 of the cheeses were IGP (or whatever the Czech equivalent is) and had nothing to link to. Hence thought I'd better do a proper job and sort out some recipes - not easy though!

Yes, I have been thinking about getting out the fryer, so I will try your spicy batter with veg and then do the fish recipe for MAS afterwards, so that the fish does does not contaminate the vegetables. BTW, I got some of that cheese you recommended today - not tried it yet, but will let know what I think ...

Question from landlord - Have you ever made your own biltong? --JuliaBalbilla 19:52, 13 May 2011 (BST)

Apologies, forgot about this question. No, is the answer. I have only preserved meat by smoking (and a rather failed attempt at some Korean pickled variation). Biltong does not appeal, I imagine it's rather like eating a leather belt :-)
