The radish is an edible root vegetable of the cabbage family. Radishes have a pingent peppery flavour, not dissimilar to mustard or horseradish, which also belong to the same family. They are grown and consumed throughout the world. Radishes have numerous varieties, varying in size, colour and duration of required cultivation time.
Daikon or Mooli
Daikon or Mooli are much larger radishes that originate from Asia. They can easily grow to 30 cm (12"), are commonly harvested at 10 kg (22 lb) and if left in the ground, can grow to as much as 30 kg (66 lb)
