Montrachet is a white Chèvre type [[Goats|goats]]’ [[Milk|milk]] [[Cheese|cheese]] from Burgundy.  It has a soft, moist and creamy texture and a tangy flavour.  It is best consumed young, because as it ages, it can become watery and [[Bitter|bitter]].

The [[Cheese|cheese]] is usually log shapes and covered with a grey, [[Salted|salted]] ash.  It has a thin rind and is matured wrapped in vine or [[Chestnut|chestnut]] leaves.  It is best served as a table [[cheese]] or with savoury biscuits.
