A tava

A tava, also known as tawah, is a large, flat or slightly concave disc-shaped griddle made from cast iron, steel or aluminium. It is used in Indian and Pakistani cuisine to prepare several kinds of roti or breads including chapati, paratha etc. Tava is also used to make South Indian dishes like Dosa and Pesarattu.

It is almost exclusively used dry, with no oils.
