Communal cooking with tangias, numbered for identification

A tangia is a large earthenware pot classically used in Moroccan cookery.

Traditional Moroccan homes did not have their own ovens, so the tangias were taken to the local communal walk-in oven, the pots are place on the hot coals and the food is slow cooked over many hours.
