Talk:Everyday white loaf

From Cookipedia

Ah! Not everyday that you spy a loaf as good as this!

And now to cook... xx JP

Thank you! The pic is for the one I made at the Miele Centre as I failed to photograph the one I made for this recipe. Made some Fougasse yesterday and will put recipe up soon. Not been too well - bad cold, cough and ear infection and making the fougasse exhausted me. Today, MAS has made some wholemeal rolls, a loaf and a small baguette and did well. Taste delicious but before I add recipe, I will need to make them myself as he is only interested in flavour and texture and not the appearance of his bread, so no pic.

Been looking at your foccacia stromboli recipe - rather different quantities to the one I made at Miele. Have you ever made it? I might give it a go soon, combining the best of your recipe with the best of the Miele one, which included smoked mozzarella. Just bought Richard Bertinet's book 'Dough' and it is fascinating.

Enjoy your cooking. You seem to be making some interesting things at the moment :-) xx --JuliaBalbilla 19:35, 9 July 2011 (BST)

Sorry to hear you've not been so well. Good to hear Apples has been breadmaking - watch your tools!

I have made the Stromboli many times, I'll see if I can find the original incase it has changed. I've not made it for a while, I think it could be a bit more cheesey - maybe a sprinkling of parmesan at the final 20 minutes, but that's me meddling again!

The recent roti recipes have been fab, toasted coconut pieces, ginger and garlic and whole spices make a wonderful mix - the substitution of vegetables for the meat or fish might even make it acceptable?
