About Metsovone cheeseMetsovone (Greek: Μετσοβόνε) is a traditional Greek cheese produce from cows’ milk but mixtures with small quantities of ewes’ or goats’ milk are also used. With Protected Designation of Origin (Προστατευόμενη Ονομασία Προέλευσης) it is produced in the region of Metsovo (Epirus) from where it gets its name. It is a semi-hard, smoked cheese, of "pasta filata" type, is considered an excellent quality table cheese. |
