| To make the [[Soup|soup]] first [[Grill|grill]] the [[Bread|bread]], [[Brushing|brushing]] with a little [[Oil|oil]] then [[Grilling|grilling]] in a dry pan or ridged [[Grill pan|grill pan]] over a medium heat until crisped. 
| Put a slice of [[Bread|bread]] into each warmed [[Soup|soup]] bowl.
| Heat the [[Oil|oil]] in a large pan and add the [[Onion|onion]] and [[Garlic|garlic]]. 
| Cook over a low heat for 10 minutes; do not let them take on any colour or it will spoil the flavour of the [[Soup|soup]].
| Add the [[Carrots|carrots]], [[Celery|celery]] and chopped [[Vegetables|vegetables]] and cook, stirring occasionally over a medium-low heat for another 3 minutes. 
| Add the [[Tomatoes|tomatoes]], cook for another 3 minutes then add the [[Stock|stock]], [[Beans|beans]] and [[Cabbage|cabbage]] leaves and bring to the [[Boil|boil]].
| [[Simmer]] until the [[Cabbage|cabbage]] leaves are tender, taste and add [[Salt|salt]] and [[Pepper|pepper]] - you will need only the smallest amount.
