An authentic Ancient Roman recipe for a peppered confection.
Ingredients
Printable 🖨 shopping 🛒 list & 👩🍳 method for this recipe
- 225g Spelt wheat flour
- 5ml baking powder
- 5ml Ground Rosemary
- 100g Chopped Almonds
- 5ml Cinnamon
- 60ml Sherry
- 60ml Red grape juice
- Squeeze of honey
- a little bit of milk
Mise en place
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F - Gas 4 - Moderate/Medium)
Method
- Mix all of the ingredients except the milk into a bowl.
- Add a little bit of milk to the combine the mixture and make a soft dropping consistancy.
- Put on a baking tray and into an oven at gas mark 5 (190"C) for approx 30 minutes and here you have it!
