Chorherrnkäse cheese

Origin

  • Produced in Upper Austria, Chorherrenkäse (Canon’s cheese) dates back to a recipe from 1469 and was first produced at Reichersberg monastery.

  • Matured for 6 weeks, the cheese has a smooth texture with numerous small holes. The rind is protected with a white plastic coating and a cross-shaped relief sticker

Description

Golden yellow in colour, the cheese has a shelf life of 6 weeks minimum
