The Better Food Company was established by Phil Haughton in 1992 as an organic delivery service, operating from a warehouse in St Werburghs.<br />

In 1998 The Better Food Company became a limited company. Since 2004 The Better Food Company has also sold fresh produce grown on a 24 acre site 8 miles from Bristol in Chew Magna, originally managed by the company and now managed by/in collaboration with The Community Farm, a not-for-profit community organisation founded by, among others, Phil Haughton.<br />

They now have two stores in Bristol (see below).<br />

One could describe the Better Food Company with three words: local, organic and ethical.<br />
