Tenerife is fresh or matured [[Cheese|cheese]], made from [[Pasteurised|pasteurised]] [[Goats|goats]]’ [[Milk|milk]] on the island of the same name in the Canary Islands. The cheese is completely white, with a compact interior and a somewhat moist, spongy texture.  It has a natural rind.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The flavour of the [[Cheese|cheese]] is sweet, slightly salty, fatty and very palatable.  In contrast, the mature version has deep, rich flavours, due to being matured for at least 2 months and has a good buttery, and nutty taste of [[Hazelnuts|hazelnuts]] and fresh [[Mushrooms|mushrooms]]. Also, depending on the maturation period the cheese can be smeared with [[Paprika|paprika]] or [[Gofio|gofio]], a [[Flour|flour]] created by [[Grinding|grinding]] [[Roasted|roasted]] [[Sweetcorn|sweetcorn]].&lt;br /&gt;
