It is my understanding that Andy Williamson created a stilton like cheese in Scotland which was called Blue Stuart. He also produced a Blue Wensleydale type and a Blue Cheshire type. According to Patrick Rance(1982) it was the Blue Cheshire type that was marketed as Shropshire Blue. I don't recall any mention that this was the same cheese as Blue Stuart, though I stand corrected if I am wrong. I also believe that it was Rance who labelled it as Invernesshire Blue. I don't know whether it was marketed as that outside of Well's Stores, though I could be wrong.<br />
