Peñanevada is a soft, mild, artisan [[cheese]] made from [[pasteurised]] [[cows' milk]] by Jesús Calzón García at his Valle de Narcea dairy in Tineo, Asturias.

Of the [[Camembert]] type, the [[cheese]] has a bloomy white rind with a soft, but firm, deep ivory-yellow interior. It has no holes and is not sticky. It has an elastic and very creamy texture with a clean aroma with hints of fresh [[herbs]], [[fruit]] and [[walnuts]]. With a mild, creamy, complex flavour, the cheese has just the right amount of saltiness.

The cheese is brick shapes, weighs around 1kg and is matured for 38 days.
