How’s Yer Father is a semi-hard cows’ milk cheese produced by Sean Wilson of the Saddleworth Cheese Company near Oldham in Lancashire. Sean used to be an actor and was most famous for his role as Martin Platt in Coronation Street.

The cheese is produced from the pasteurised milk of cows in the postcode area of PR3 as this is the best area for obtaining milk to make Lancashire cheese, of which this is a creamy variety. Made with vegetarian rennet and matured for 6-8 weeks, the cheese has a sweet, yet savoury flavour with a hint of nuts. It is of mild to medium strength and is the best creamy Lancashire that I have tasted. It has quite a milky aroma and a smooth, creamy and velvety texture with some small holes and cracks. It is pale yellow in colour and is coated in green wax.

This delicious cheese is ideal for cheeseboards, with biscuits and fruit or in cooking.
