Forest Oak is an organic, unpasteurised, cows’ [[milk]] [[cheese]] made by Melissa Ravenhill of Woefuldane Farm, Minchinhampton near Stroud.

Based on the ancient [[Dunlop cheese]] it is made to a traditional Scottish recipe. It is firm, subtle, smooth, sweet and buttery with a bite on the finish. It is oak smoked and won an award for best new cheese at the 2005 British Cheese Awards.

The [[cheese]], which is suitable for vegetarians, is only available at the farmer’s markets in Gloucester, Stroud, Cirencester and Cheltenham and a few local shops. However, you can buy the [[cheese]] by mail order, directly from the [http://www.fresh-n-local.co.uk farm].

The [[cheese]] won a Bronze Medal in the 2012 British Cheese Awards.
