Dear 'worried'

The root came from a pot that has leaves as in your picture together with 'normal' horseradish leaves. I imagine that it's some kind of abnormality - the only other plant grown regularly in that pot is parsley - and your plant is not that.

A quick crush of the leaves, and definitely of the root will be the tell-tale.

Make a paste of a little bit of root and see if it tastes of horseradish. If you're still worried then it's ok. :-)

Bit pushed for the next day or so, but later in the week I'll dig a bit or root from another source and pop it in the post.
