Esrom  is produced with pasteurised semi-skimmed cows’ [[milk]] and is from the town of the same name.  It is a semi-hard, Trappist-style [[cheese]] and is matured for 10-12 weeks.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The [[cheese]] has a mild, pleasant taste when young, when it is similar to [[Port Salut cheese|Port Salut]], but becomes stronger and earthier as it matures.  However, because it is rind-washed, it has a pungent aroma.  It is pale yellow, with tiny holes and has a rectangular shape and an orange rind.  &lt;br /&gt;

Esrom also has [[Garlic|garlic]], [[pepper]] or [[onion]] varieties&lt;br /&gt;
