A semi-hard cows-milk [[cheese]] made with vegetarian [[rennet]], with a medium thickness rind from Coquetdale in Northumberland. Reminiscent of French and Swiss alpine cheeses like the many forms of Tomme. Described by the judges of the Bakewell Cheese Show in 1993 as "a very fine cheese of good character - rich and buttery. Deliciously clean long, fruity finish".

Available from the [http://www.northumberlandcheese.co.uk/ Northumberland Cheese Company] via resellers such as [http://www.teesdalegame.co.uk Game and Poultry] in the covered market in Durham City. Recommended as the perfect accompaniment to a meal of their excellent [[venison]].
