Although pre-packed chicken breasts, legs and thighs are relatively cheap to buy, be bold, buy a whole bird and [[Jointing a chicken|joint it yourself]].  It works out even cheaper than buying pre-packed and only takes about 10 minutes.  The more experienced you are, the less time it takes.  Chicken cooked on the bone also has a superior flavour.
