Blacksticks Silk is a blue, pasteurised goats’ [[milk]] [[cheese]] produced by [[Butler’s Speciality Cheeses]], at Wilson Fields Farm in Inglewhite near Preston.

Produced from the [[milk]] of Butler’s own herd of goats, the soft [[cheese]] has a delicate flavour and a silky texture. Combining nuttiness with a subtle blue tang, the taste becomes more peppery with age

The [[curds]] are cut by hand, and then placed into moulds before leaving them to drain. The following day the [[cheese]] is pierced to allow the blue veining to start, and then individually wrapped by hand. It is allowed to mature for at least five weeks. It is sold in supermarkets as own brand [[Beacon Blue cheese]].
