Charlotte grew up in Gosforth and went to Church High school. Whilst reading Theology in York she got a part time job in a butcher's shop. She then trained to be a butcher with George Payne in Gosforth, Stewart & Co. in Jesmond, O'Shea's of Knightsbridge and Lidgate's in Holland Park. Whilst working the Christmas madness in London in 2013, she discovered AE Hubb's for sale on Ashburton Road, Gosforth - and after much begging to the Prime Minister secured a loan designed for start-ups. She is still in awe that it happened so quickly. She genuinely believes she is the luckiest woman alive; especially after a few gins.
A Great story and great produce
If you have a read of the pages on Charlotte's website, you'll see that she has an awesome story to tell and can supply a fabulous range of fresh produce. She can do deliveries in Newcastle area too. It's lovely to see a proper butcher succeeding in these days of supermarket dominance.
She does demonstrations by arrangement and as well as a TV appearance on Channel 4's Sunday Brunch, she has done events such as WI Meetings, Restaurant Events, Cookery Schools, Wine Events, Historical Groups, etc. If you wanted her to help you with an event or do talks she's very flexible and happy to get involved.
