Ingredients

Method

  1. Boil the carrots with the sugar in just enough water to cover, until tender.
  2. Meanwhile, fry the onions in the oil until golden.
  3. Add the carrots and the water in which they have been cooking, and the apples to the onions.
  4. Cook until all of the ingredients are soft.
  5. Season and add a squeeze of lemon juice.

Serving suggestions

A general accompaniment to meat and fish.

Alternatives

Omit the salt an lemon juice and season with the juice of preserved lemons.
