St James cheese

St James is produced by Martin Gott of Holker Farm Dairy from unpasteurised ewes’ milk. The milk come from the hardy Lacaune breed of French sheep.

The rind-washed cheese has a savoury flavour of smoked ham and has a crumbly texture. It has received numerous awards including the James Aldridge Award for the 'Best Unpasteurised Cheese of the Year' in 2005.

The cheese can be obtained online and in person from Neal’s Yard Dairy.
