Literally 'potatoes for the poor', this is a simple Spanish potato recipe and the following recipe is for cooking in a Thermomix. The conventional method of making this dish will be added shortly.

Ingredients

  • 100g olive oil
  • 1 large onion, peeled

  • 800g potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • Garlic, to taste, sliced

Method

  1. Heat the oil in the bowl for 3 minutes at 100 degrees on speed 1.
  2. Meanwhile sprinkle the potato slices with a little salt on both sides.
  3. Add the onion and chop for 6 seconds on speed 4½;.
  4. Scrap down the inside of the bowl.
  5. Reduce the speed to 1 and allow to cook for 5 minutes / MC Off.
  6. Place the butterfly whisk in the bowl.
  7. Add the potatoes, and cook on speed 1 at 100 degrees for 20 minutes.
  8. 5 minutes before the end of the cooking time, add the garlic.

Serving suggestions

Serve as an alternative to boiled or chipped potatoes.
