Leerdammer cheese

About Maasdammer cheese

Maasdammer is a Swiss-type cows’ milk cheese based on the Norwegian Jarlsberg. It is often exported under the name Leerdammer (pictured).

The cheese, which is produced in dome-shaped wheels and weighs about 11 kg, has medium to large holes and a nutty, mellow, creamy flavour. It has a smooth texture, a yellow wax rind and is matured for 10 weeks.
