Mölltaler Almkäse cheese

Mölltaler Almkäse is a hard pasteurised cows’ milk cheese from Carinthia (Kärnten) which is named after the Mölltal valley from where it originates.

The cheese has a smooth, delicate texture with small, sporadic, pea-sized holes and a mild to sharp, aromatic flavour. It has a natural reddish rind.

The cylindrical shaped cheese weighs about 4 kg and it is also available in slices. It is matured for a minimum of five months.
