A hot chilli sauce from Mauritius.

Ingredients

  • Oil
  • 15 fresh chillies, finely chopped
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed

  • 1 teaspoon saffron, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • Seasoning

Method

  1. Fry the peppers, onion and garlic in a pan.
  2. Add the saffron and the mustard.
  3. Simmer for about 3 minutes.
  4. Season and allow to go cold before serving.
