Birdwood Dunlop cheese.jpg

Birdwood Dunlop is an organic, unpasteurised, cows’ milk cheese made by Melissa Ravenhill of Woefuldane Farm, Minchinhampton near Stroud. See also: http://www.woefuldaneorganics.co.uk/

Based on the ancient Dunlop cheese it is made to a traditional Scottish recipe. It is firm, subtle, smooth, sweet and buttery with a bite on the finish.

The cheese, which is suitable for vegetarians, is only available at the farmer’s markets in Gloucester, Stroud, Cirencester and Cheltenham and a few local shops. However, you can buy the cheese by mail order, directly from the farm.
