Alpenkäse cheese

Alpenkäse cheese is a semi-hard pasteurised cows’ milk cheese from the southern part of Oberösterreich.

The cheese has a smooth texture with small, sporadic holes and a strong, aromatic flavour. It has a reddish rind.

The block shaped cheese weighs about 3 kg and it is also available in slices. It is matured for eight weeks.
